Mike and Diana are excited about the opportunity to continue to glorify God by serving in this full-time ministry. Both are looking forward to connecting the church body through Christian action and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Rwanda Team I (June 2-18)
Amber Beamer lives in Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota. She is an ex-Air Force Officer and now a stay at home mom while her husband, Nick, is still in the military. God has given both of them a passion for missions and humanitarian work. Once Nick retires from the military, they would like to be involved in full-time missions. The Lord has burdened Amber's heart for the people of Rwanda and now has opened the door for her to go on this trip. He has also provided family members who can stay with their baby. Amber is very excited as the time draws closer and she is thankful for all the prayers and support on her behalf.
Marsha Fishbaugh attended Saint Francis College in Ft Wayne, Indiana for 3 semesters then went to work for the Air National Guard. In the meantime, the "Fonzie" love of her life was drafted and a year later they married. Thus began a military life lasting nearly 26 years. She and her husband, Dave raised 2 baby girls into lovely young women and who now are mothers, themselves. This is her proudest achievement. When her daughters needed to go to college, one succeeding the other, after the last move, from Texas to Virginia, she went to work when offered the secretarial position with the North Defense Trust. That was 1988. They've long ago graduated and now love and nurture their five precious grandchildren and take excellent care of their "sons". Marsha is still working only now on a PC. Dave and Marsha have enjoyed 41 years of love and marriage and look forward to many more. For what more could she ask, except to answer a "call" to visit some moms and children who need continued hope and assurance that they are loved and were created in the image of God in Christ Jesus.
Amanda Matthys is originally from Pasadena, Texas, and spent the last six years working in youth ministry in Pasadena, San Marcos, and Galveston, Texas. Last May, she married a wonderful man who is active duty army, so in September, they moved to Ft. Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina where he is stationed and working as a Drill Sergeant. She is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Counselor Education with a focus in School Counseling at the University of South Carolina, and plans on working in the schools as a counselor when she is finished. She also has a heart for missions and has been a member of many mission teams including teams to Mexico, Belize and South Africa, and has led many UMARMY and Big House groups. She feels incredibly blessed by God in her life and is extremely excited and humbled that God is allowing her to be God’s hands and feet in Rwanda as a part of this team!
Brett Mosher is the Small Group Pastor at Oakwood Baptist Church in New Braunfels, and is always excited about opportunities to share the love of Christ with people from other cultures. Recently, he began to feel a longing to work with impoverished people in Africa as books, movies, and articles started coming across his path. He didn’t know what his connection with Africa would look like, but he began to pray that God would reveal His plan for involvement there. Then, through “divine coincidence” Brett came in contact with Diana Wiley. When she told him about True Vineyard Ministries’ project in Rwanda, he was immediately interested. Brett was reminded that the book of James tells us that true religion involves caring for widows and orphans, and the Umuzabibu project aims to do just that. He knows that by partnering with these 10 widows. their churches, and sponsors in the U.S., we will break the cycle of poverty for these precious women and their children will tangibly bless them with the love of Christ. He is excited about what God has in store!
Molly Moloney is a student at Texas State University where she is working towards her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders. She has attended First United Methodist Church in San Marcos, Texas for 22 years. For the past 4 years she has been praying about doing a mission trip with True Vineyard Ministries. It was not until she heard about the trip to Rwanda that she heard God say “yes”. She knows the mission work she and the team will be doing in Rwanda promotes education and getting families out of poverty and dependence. She believes those things are important and wanted to be part of something so incredible and life changing. The decision was a difficult one for her to make but after telling her parents they said, “We knew you were going to Rwanda, how can we help?” As soon as they said this, she knew she was supposed to go. Molly is grateful for all the support, prayers and gifts they along with church community and friends have given to make this trip possible.
Justin Rains is currently a student at Texas State University where he is studying anthropology and geography. Justin also works at Crate & Barrel part-time. He travels every chance he gets and enjoys seeing the world through the eyes of other people and cultures. His faith and family mean the most to him and he believes high standards and morals should be unmovable. After doing some research and free-lance tech writing on the 1994 Rwandan Genocide for a class, and then turning over all his work to True Vineyard Ministries, Justin felt led to offer his services in any capacity needed. Justin has had no desire to go to Africa but realizes that it is God who is calling him to Rwanda. Like many team members, Justin does not know yet what the capacity of God's plans are for him on this trip but believes that they will be revealed. Although there have been a few obstacles and doubts, each time God has confirmed his involvement with this endeavor. He received all money needed quite easily, and met the requirement without avail, even after the cost of fuel went up. This was truly amazing to Justin. He feels that this trip will be truly blessed and that we will be a light unto the darkness, only through the will of God.

Her travels have taken her all across the world to minister to God's people. She believes God has called her to the regions of Africa to serve women branded with the scars of AIDS/HIV, to serve them in any capacity that the Lord deems necessary to demonstrate that pure religion is to take care of widows and orphans in their distress.
Annie Werner is a senior at San Marcos High School, and has lived there all of her life. In her four years at SMHS she was involved in many organizations such as the debate team, Junior State of America, the cheerleading squad, and also founded one of her own called the Youth Activists United. YAU is essentially the segue God used to guide her to become involved with True Vineyard Ministries. Annie’s new organization sponsored one of the TVM widows last January by grassroots fundraising and involving the students at her school. When late February rolled around, she knew that she had been called to give herself even more to the 10 women of Rwanda by first handedly participating in the latest addition to the True Vineyard family: the Rwanda mission. As a member of Rwanda Team II, Annie hopes to connect with the women and help advance their lives and the lives of their families in ways they would have never imagined. She is most excited about meeting her sponsored widow, Ayinkamye Saveline, and seeing the transformation of her life take place right before her eyes. Annie’s parents, Gary and Patrice Werner, and brother, Geoff, will be in her heart as she travels across the world this summer, and can’t wait to share the stories of God’s handiwork when she returns. She feels after a lifetime of receiving blessings from her church and community that she is now being led to give back to the world in the love and faith that God has shown her by returning for a second time to Mozambique. This past year has been one of rapid personal growth and God's spiritual calling was intensified when He presented Michele with this ministry opportunity once again. Her faith is growing and she is egar to continue sharing her faith with others who have not yet experienced Jesus' love. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God did not five us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and love and self-discipline.
